Family Compass is a self-guided, 24-hour couples retreat for Christian marriages, done at a hotel within an hour of your home in January or February 2027. Two customized journals arrive in the mail 10 days before your personalized retreat dates and guide you through three sessions. You come home with a one-page Family Compass for your wall. One $199 payment covers both journals and your place in the Founder’s Cohort; hotel and meals are booked separately.

Self-guided. The written, hour-by-hour itinerary included in your journal is the primary means of guiding you through your retreat. You are free to adjust and adapt it based on your particular goals and the flow of your 24 hours together.

Any city or town across the U.S. Your two journals arrive in the mail 10 days before your retreat date, and you take them to your retreat destination, preferably a hotel less than 60 minutes from home.

The first twenty couples to do Family Compass. Founder’s Cohort couples pay $199 for every Reservoir marriage retreat we ever run, instead of $299. Family Compass is the first of seven; Awe & Intimacy is set for Spring 2027, and Silent Before This Great God will take place in Fall 2027.

One $199 payment covers two Family Compass journals and your Founder’s Cohort place: $199 for every Reservoir marriage retreat we ever run. Hotel and meals are extra. We’ll suggest hotels and restaurants that fit your budget.

The retreat is designed for couples to do without kids. Twenty-four hours away allows time to think, pray, and discern apart from the day-to-day activities that keep your home running. Finding safe and reliable childcare is a big step in planning this retreat, so we suggest you start early.

Yes. Each set of Family Compass journals is customized for each couple. Your weekend follows the same structure and flow, and the plan you build will be customized for you.

Reservoir was launched by Marcus and Kelly Sun in October 2026, and exists to make it easy for Christians to retreat. Marcus is a graduate of Wheaton College and USC’s MBA program, and spent nearly a decade at Fuller Seminary, three of those years as a vice president. Kelly is a graduate of Wheaton College and Fuller Seminary, and co-founded Love and Be Loved. We pray that on every Reservoir retreat, you are filled for God’s mission (Ephesians 3:19).

Choose your Family Compass retreat dates at enrollment, at least four weeks out. Full refund within 14 days of paying, or until print if sooner. After that, a cancellation before print becomes a $199 credit toward any Reservoir marriage retreat booked within 12 months. Canceling Family Compass ends Founder’s Cohort status, and future marriage retreats are $299. Journals print four weeks before your retreat. After that, no refunds or credits: Family Compass journals ship, and you retreat whenever you’re ready.
